trilingual child mixing up all the langauges - 2011/08/16 00:09 My daughter is 6 years old and she speaks 3 languanges: English, French (the weakest) and Dutch. Her mother tongue is English. But, we came to the Netherlands when she was 2 years old and now Dutch is her strongest language. English she speaks with us at home. But, her English is mixed up with bad grammer and Dutch together, mostly because she translates from Dutch to English. It's a big mess of a language now (at home) and we correct her all the time. Needless to say, her Dutch is 100%. Will all the languages stabilize later or will the English remain like this? should we still use English with her at home? any advise will be appreciated!
